BASKETBALL

  CHECK LIST FOR PARTICIPATION

• Remember: You must not only be registered with Special Olympics of Minnesota to participate in our sports, but your application needs to be updated every three years. Click here to obtain an application if needed.
• Don't forget to register for this sport, too. At the bottom of this page you'll find a link to the basketball registration form.
  
• Need a uniform? If are new to this team or have outgrown your old uniform, you need to complete this UNIFORM ORDER FORM and turn it in to your coach.
• Finally, we're all about having fun -- while we are getting some good exercise. We want you to try to come to as many practices as possible.

BASKETBALL INFORMATION

GENERAL

• Depending upon ability and desires, athletes may be placed in team competition or half court basketball (three on three competition).
• Registration forms are due by January 23, 2012.
• Athletes will be assigned to teams based on skills and then on a first-come, first-serve, first-paid basis. If the fee isn’t included with your registration form, you will not be placed on a team until the fee is paid! By then, some of the upper level teams may already be full.
• All of our competitions are free, except for the state meet - which requires a $25 entry fee.

The South Region Stars competes in the Area games as well as in the State competition. On occasion we also participate in a regional competition and other local meets.

REGISTER

• In order to participate in the Basketball Tournaments, athletes must fill out and return the BASKETBALL REGISTRATION FORM by Monday, Jan. 23.
• Bring your registration form to practice!
• If you are participating in the State Basketball Tournament, enclose a $25.00 check/money order, made payable to the South Region Stars Special Olympics Team.
• If you are participating in the State Basketball Tournament, enclose a $25.00 check/money order, made payable to the South Region Stars Special Olympics Team.
• Remember, you will not be registered until you pay!
• Your payment cannot be refunded once it has been sent in to the state office.
